Exploring the Mysterious Force of Dark Energy: Could it be Love?

The space where science and spirituality meet is akin to two lovers who don't speak each other's languages. Yet they have more in common than they ever thought possible.

One such commonality is in the theories surrounding that enigmatic concept, dark energy. Dark energy, estimated to be 68–72% of the universe, is purported to be responsible for the universe's accelerating expansion.

A particular form of dark energy is labeled 'quintessence' in homage to Aristotle, who postulated the fifth element as the glue that held everything together. He also referred to it as 'aether', now 'ether'.

The other classical elements are fire, water, air and Earth, very familiar to those of us who practice such things as tarot reading and witchcraft.

Aristotle may have been on the right track back then. He may not have had the science at his fingertips, but he knew a thing or two about how to explain the unexplainable.
